Hot and muggy. These are the days that try men’s souls… but not the Chimps. We gathered at Local 315 Brewery for a frothy bike “ride” along with several guests on our flat and short course west of Warners. After several hot laps of pushing on the pedals we navigated back to 315 Brewing, dragging what was left of our sorry, dehydrated bodies atop of our machines. After a quick wardrobe change we adjourned to the bar to refresh ourselves.
The Team has been riding from Local 315 Brewing Company since 2017. The location is ideal and the setting is quite the draw. It’s located where the hills of Marcellus give way to the flats of Warners, Jordan, B’Ville and right next to the Erie Canal for the days when we feel like mixing it up. The Brewery sits above Warners Rd. and adjacent to the Camillus Unique area. There’s plenty of outdoor biergarten style seating so we’re able to avoid offending the patrons inside when we come back from a strenuous ride, smelling like three day old shark chum. Oftentimes, there’s live music and food trucks as well.
The Team is sponsored by Local 315 Brewing for 2018 and they have shown us nothing but amazing support and hospitality. On this muggy evening we were proud to present a framed team jersey to Josh Mersfleder— head brewer at Local 315 Brewing— as a sign of our gratitude. Josh is the master crafting the delicious ales that refresh us so (the current team favorite is the Soul Kiss IPA but there’s always a new brew on tap to try).
So the next time you’re in the area and looking for a cool drink after a long ride, an amazing hike, or you just feel like trying some locally brewed specialties, stop by Local 315 Brewing. Tell ’em the Chimps sent you.
